AutoTrack service is based on ¡°Data Networks¡± which are sub-networks
within the Inmarsat C network. Such data networks have as ¡±members¡±
one or more Inmarsat C terminals. Each data network is identified
by a unique DNID.
A Data Network IDentity (DNID) number is used to address
a specific group of terminals. All Inmarsat C terminals in
a group must be configured to belong to that DNID. A terminal
may belong to more than one DNID group. A 5-digit DNID and
corresponding DNID member number must be downloaded into the
Inmarsat C terminal in order for a terminal to belong to an
DNID group. The member number is an unique identifier for
each terminal in a DNID group. This member number is the only
identification that the terminal sends in a Data Report --
the Data Report does contain the Inmarsat Mobile Number (IMN)
of the terminal. To request that a DNID be loaded into an
MES, please contact Telenor Customer Care. Downloading of
an DNID must be performed by the staff at the LES. DNIDs may
be deleted from the terminal¡¯s memory by the mobile user.
Position Data Report can be automatically reported according
to the pre-registered periodic time. (Minimum 1 time to Maximum
24 times a day) You can also check the vessel¡¯s position through
user¡¯s individual polling command.
